Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 23, 2026
This policy explains what Bolter collects and uses to provide calorie tracking, cloud sync, AI-assisted food analysis, subscriptions, Siri, widgets, and optional Apple Health support.
Information Bolter Collects
Account information: when you sign in with Apple, Bolter may receive and store your user identifier, email address, display name, sign-in provider, account creation time, and last sign-in time.
Nutrition information: Bolter stores the food descriptions, meal names, portions, calories, macros, ingredients, saved foods, goals, preferences, dates, and related food-log details you create in the app.
AI inputs: if you use text, photo, voice, or Siri logging, Bolter may process your food prompt, uploaded image, audio recording, transcript, selected date, and analysis preferences to return nutrition estimates. Images may be uploaded as JPEG files for analysis.
Subscription information: Bolter uses RevenueCat to manage purchase status, offerings, restores, and Pro entitlement state. App Store payments are handled by Apple.
Apple Health and photos: if you grant permission, Bolter can write calories, protein, carbohydrates, and fat to Apple Health. Bolter does not request Health read access. If you enable saving camera photos, Bolter may save captured images to your photo library.
How Bolter Uses Information
Bolter uses information to create and sync your food log, generate nutrition estimates, show daily stats, support Siri and widgets, save preferences, manage subscriptions, secure your account, improve reliability, and respond to deletion or support requests.
Service Providers
Bolter uses service providers only as needed to run the app: Firebase for authentication, cloud storage, cloud functions, and Firestore sync; OpenAI for food analysis and voice transcription; RevenueCat for subscription management; Apple for Sign in with Apple, App Store purchases, Apple Health permissions, Siri, and photo-library permissions.
Bolter does not sell your personal information and does not use your food log for third-party advertising.
Retention and Deletion
Bolter keeps account and food-log information while your account is active or as needed to operate the app. You can delete food entries in the app. If you delete your Bolter account, Bolter attempts to delete your user profile, food logs, saved foods, frequent-food data, and Firebase account record. Some limited records may remain where required for security, legal, backup, or transaction purposes.
Your Choices
You can sign out, delete entries, disable optional photo saving, manage Apple Health permissions in iOS Settings, manage subscriptions through Apple, and request account deletion in the app. You can also contact the Bolter team through the support channel listed in the app.
Children
Bolter is not intended for children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us through the support channel listed in the app.
Changes
Bolter may update this policy as the app changes. The "Last updated" date shows when this page was last revised.
